According to foreclosure news, county officials are monitoring every foreclosed home for sale in Hillsborough County, Florida, to prevent them from causing urban decay and bringing down home prices within their communities. They have also begun implementing an ordinance where the mortgage lenders have to pay $100 to the county for every foreclosure filing. These will be used by the county in the management and care of homes that have been vacated due to foreclosures. The lenders have been filing almost 2,000 foreclosures every month since January 2009 and the county has been finding it difficult to come up with the maintenance costs for the foreclosed properties.
