Sticky Summer Sun Brings us all Back to Simpler Times
Hot, slow, sticky summer days have a certain appeal that’s hard to deny. There’s something nostalgic about the feeling that you’d like nothing more than to dive into a cool lake and emerge from the water to hear the familiar tune of the ice cream truck approaching, or perusing the many display freezers in the local shop for a lolly or ice-cream.
It brings us back to the simpler times of our youth when summer was synonymous with vacation, relaxation, and carefree fun. Summer heat is the only thing that could make an adult do something so childish as to strip down to their swimsuit and run through the sprinklers in the front yard.
For those of us who suffer through a long and cold winter, the feeling of the sun slowly freckling our skin brings on a sense that life should be relished, not rushed. It drives us to be outside and enjoy all the beautiful landscapes that come alive, if only for a few short months.
