Being of a, let’s just say a ‘mature’ age, my experience with Facebook would be ranked along the apprentice level. My Facebook account is only days old, and yet I have so many friends, and friends of friends who want me to write to them and send pictures!! Not sure when I will find the time to keep up with all of this new information. Knowing that not all is as it seems, Facebook content is very similar to walking around in a strange new city, and having kind looking people come up to you and want to strike up a conversation. My parents planted a seed of caution in my behaviour to be aware of everything, and everyone until you know the truth, which is applied to the Facebook community. A wonderful tool to be reminded of birthdays, sharing interests, hearing and seeing up-to-date events, and viewing wonderful photos of family and all those friends. An excellent tool for networking yourself, or a skill you have you want to let everyone know you have in hopes that someone out there will recognize your hidden talent. Just beware that danger can be around that next corner when you least expect it. I am looking forward to participating in the community, and excited about learning new communication tools.
